Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Performance and Continuous Improvement Lead to be based ideally in Donnington, Catterick, York or the East Midlands Area. This full‑time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) will require travel and work from operational locations, with a minimum of three days travel to sites as required. A valid driving licence is essential. Join our vibrant, inclusive community in Complex Facilities, working on our Continuous Improvement function across Defence, driving data‑led improvement initiatives across the contract. The role requires positive engagement with front‑line teams, including supply chains and National Accommodation Management Service (NAMS) representatives. P&CI Coaches will operate pan‑contract, supporting and fostering continuous improvement within operations teams and acting as a positive ambassador for Amey with Service Families, stakeholder groups and the community.

What you will do:
  • Collect and thoroughly analyse complex data from diverse sources to provide insights that drive innovation and risk awareness, supporting informed decision‑making by Amey and the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO).
  • Determine trends within data sets and produce accurate reports to target improvements; previous experience of A3 problem solving would be advantageous.
  • Drive and manage a varied workload, often with tight deadlines.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma and project‑management methodologies to achieve goals and improvement outcomes.
  • Challenge established ways of thinking and processes to eliminate waste.
  • Share best practice with fellow P&CI Coaches, fostering a team of improvement excellence.
  • Embed within operations to identify cost‑saving and performance‑enhancing initiatives following Lean principles.
  • Actively coach and mentor within RAMS to leverage a CI culture.
What you will bring:
  • Experience in data analysis, identifying trends and drawing together insights.
  • Facilitating Lean/change‑management workshops with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Driving change in an operational environment and knowledge of working within a B2B and B2C customer‑focused environment.
  • Ability to work from site a minimum of three days per week.
  • Desirable – previous experience as a coach and mentor.
  • Desirable – ILM Level Three Award in Coaching and Mentoring qualification or equivalent or relevant experience.
  • Desirable – Lean Six Sigma or equivalent qualification supported by experience in an operational environment.
