Job description

Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland. Performance Analyst
As a Performance Analyst, you'll play a key role in monitoring, analysing and reporting on business performance and KPIs. You'll investigate performance issues to identify root causes, trends and opportunities for improvement, transforming complex data into clear and actionable insights that support effective decision‑making across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll develop and maintain management information, dashboards, reports, data models and reporting solutions using Power BI and other analytical tools. Working closely with stakeholders, you'll understand reporting requirements, provide insight-led recommendations and support governance and performance review processes through accurate and timely reporting. You'll also ensure the quality, integrity and consistency of data while identifying opportunities to automate and streamline reporting processes.

What We're Looking For

You’ll be a highly analytical and proactive individual with experience working with large datasets and complex information to deliver meaningful business insights. You'll have strong technical skills in Power BI, SQL and Excel, with experience developing reports, dashboards and data visualisations that support performance management and decision‑making. You'll be an excellent problem solver with experience of investigating performance issues, identifying root causes and presenting findings to a range of audiences. Strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders are essential. Ideally, you'll also have knowledge of KPI frameworks, performance management and root cause analysis techniques, together with an understanding of data modelling and data visualisation best practice. Experience of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Power Automate, Power Query or Fabric would be advantageous.

Looking out for you
  • You'll get plenty of time to recharge with 38 days (Pro-rata) of holiday every year (including public holidays).
  • And you can even buy five more if you need a little extra time.
  • You can also take time off to volunteer in your community.
  • We have family‑friendly policies around adoption, maternity, and parental leave.
  • We embrace flexible working.
  • We offer a pension (the 'know-what-you'will-get-when-you-retire' kind), and life assurance.
  • You will participate in a company bonus scheme.
  • We provide access to SW Splash – handy rewards that can save you money on holidays, bills, and shopping.

This role will be a Grade 6. If you're new to Scottish Water, you'll join us on a starting salary of £37,815. Performance‑driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £48,395.

We operate Balanced Hybrid working at Scottish Water and we encourage people to work half their time in a Scottish Water location.

Don't worry – we'll only start these checks once you have accepted an offer.
