Job summary

Black Lives in Musi is seeking Mid-Level Musician/Teacher (Percussion) to join our Big Noise Govanhill (Glasgow) and Big Noise Douglas (Dundee) teams. You will deliver percussion lessons, general musicianship and group teaching as part of our afterschool programme, with home visits and community performances where possible.

We require a degree or equivalent, professional performing experience, and ability to work with varied groups of children and young people.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification.
• Professional performing experience.
• Experience teaching children and young people in large groups.
• Belief in the benefits of Big Noise / Sistema Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instrumental lessons and general musicianship sessions.
• Lead group teaching in afterschool programme.
• Conduct home visits and community performances where possible.
• Match musical skills to Big Noise components and develop in other areas.
