Centrica is offering a Year in Industry internship in our People team. You will gain hands-on experience, tackle real challenges and build technical and professional skills that contribute to meaningful business outcomes.
You will learn how People supports colleagues and the wider business, with mentors, structured development and a network of graduates. The programme supports relocation and travel where required, with a hybrid working model across the UK.
As a People Intern, you'll spend a year gaining hands‑on experience and working on meaningful projects that contribute to real business outcomes.
From day one, you'll be part of the team, tackling genuine challenges and building valuable technical and professional skills. It's an opportunity to put your learning into practice, develop future‑ready skills and gain insight into where a career in People could take you.
Our people are at the heart of how Centrica succeeds. From creating great colleague experiences to helping our organisation evolve, our People teams play an important role in shaping the future of our business.
During your Year in Industry, you’ll gain hands‑on experience within one of our People teams, taking on real responsibility and contributing to meaningful work throughout your placement.
You’ll build your understanding of how People supports colleagues and the wider business, while developing practical skills in areas such as stakeholder engagement, data‑driven decision making and project delivery. It’s an opportunity to apply what you’re learning at university in a real‑world setting and explore where a future career in People could take you.
We're looking for potential, not perfection. That's why you'll be supported every step of the way through structured development opportunities, experienced mentors and line managers, dedicated graduate learning, buddy support and a network of graduates from across the business.
With offices across the UK and a hybrid approach to working, flexibility is an important part of our graduate and intern programmes. You’ll need to be open to travel when required and, for some placements, relocation, giving you the opportunity to experience different teams, locations and parts of our business.
We’re looking for people to add to our culture – not fit in with it. We're building a community where you can be unapologetically you, where differences are celebrated, and where everyone can belong. Real inclusivity also means supporting the different realities our people face. That’s why we have the UK’s best Carers Policy and are continually building our approach to flexibility and wellbeing. Of course, we love having fun too. We’re a people place after all.
We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That’s why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too. Visit the link below to discover why we’re a great place to work and what being part of more means for you.
If you're full of energy, fired up about sustainability, and ready to craft not only a better tomorrow, but a better you, then come and find your purpose in a team where your voice matters, your growth is non‑negotiable, and your ambitions are our priority.
Help us, help you. We would love for you to share any information about yourself throughout our recruitment process so that we can better understand you and help shape your journey.
