Job summary

Village Hotels is seeking a Regional People Partner to oversee the Midlands and M4 Corridor, the commercial and cultural anchor for 10 hotels and 1,200+ employees. The hybrid role requires site visits, occasional overnight stays, and the ability to build strong trust with General Managers and proactively drive engagement.

You will lead complex Employee Relations, coach leaders, shape the people strategy, and implement lasting, business‑driven change.

Qualifications

• Experience handling complex Employee Relations with a regional remit.
• Strong coaching and leadership capabilities across multiple hotels.
• Proven ability to drive engagement, retention, and succession planning.
• Willingness to visit sites regularly and manage overnight stays as required.
• Hospitality background is a bonus; learning & development, leisure, or teaching backgrounds welcome.

The Role Outline: Your Week at a Glance

As our Regional People Partner covering the Midlands and the M4 Corridor, you are the commercial and cultural anchor for 10 hotels and over 1,200 employees.

This is a true hybrid role requiring you to manage complex Employee Relations while regularly visiting your sites, building face-to-face trust with your General Managers, and managing periodic overnight stays. We are not looking for someone to simply police HR policy from afar. We need a highly visible, genuinely positive coach who brings natural warmth, empathy, and strong drive to the region. We want you to build absolute trust, drive real engagement, challenge operational assumptions constructively, and implement commercial change that actually sticks.

Your Territory: What You Will Actually Be Doing

As our Regional People Partner, you are the engine of our people strategy. We trust you to handle:

• Managing a region of 10 hotels: You will balance home working with vital on-site visits (around one visit per hotel each month), using periodic overnight stays to truly understand the pulse of your locations.
• Acting as the ultimate commercial partner: You will navigate the operational experience of a long-standing team to proactively drive employee satisfaction, retention, and succession planning without simply telling them what they want to hear.
• Implementing change that adds actual value: The People Team is always open to fresh ideas, and we want your voice to help drive real change. You will move past transactional HR to ensure our recruitment, reward, and L&D strategies are living and breathing on the hotel floor.
• Delivering balanced ER support: Providing impartial, pragmatic support for complex Employee Relations while actively developing and upskilling management teams to protect both the business and our people.
