  • Role: People Operations Manager
  • Location: Thame, Oxfordshire (hybrid with at least 2 days a week in the office, with travel across England and Scotland as needed)
  • Salary: £48,000 per annum
  • Hours: 37.5 per week

Help shape people experience in a values-led charity

If bringing people, systems and data together to create a brilliant colleague experience makes you think "that's exactly what I love doing", this is the role for you.

We're Affinity Trust, and we support people to live their lives their way. Where does this role come in? We can only do that with great colleagues who thrive at work.

A great colleague experience starts behind the scenes, where people, data and systems quietly click together. When they work smoothly, everything feels easier. This People Operations Manager role is about making that happen.

You will:
  • Lead, coach and develop our HR Administration Team so they're confident, skilled and proud of the service they deliver.
  • Simplify and improve people processes end-to-end, making them more efficient, inclusive and easy to use.
  • Own and optimise our HRIS, especially iTrent, understanding how workflows, functionality and user experience can be better.
  • Join the dots across people systems, helping to shape our digital people strategy and how systems talk to each other.
  • Be the go-to person for people data and reporting, from regulatory returns to dashboards and data stores that give real insight.
  • Act as an intelligent customer with suppliers, managing relationships, holding them to account and working with Procurement and Change on contracts and developments.
  • Regularly map and review processes so they stay compliant, efficient and genuinely helpful for colleagues.
  • Play a key role in cross-organisational and cross-functional projects
  • Support the Director of People by contributing to Exec and Board papers, representing the People Team and deputising when needed.

You don't need to have worked in social care before, though it will help. What matters most is that you understand the sector and want to help improve it. You can find more detail about the role, and the skills and experience we're looking for, in the job description attached to this advert

Who are Affinity Trust?

We are a social care provider and charity supporting people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with other assessed needs to live active, fulfilling and independent lives. We work across England and Scotland and are registered with the Care Quality Commission and the Care Inspectorate.

Our values guide everything we do:

  • People are at the heart of everything we do : we listen, we learn, we build on strengths.
  • We give our best : what we do matters, and we take responsibility.
  • We work together : we're one team, valuing strengths and differences, being open and trusting.
  • We have courage : we try new things, and we're creative and adaptable.

As People Operations Manager, you'll help bring these values to life through every process, system and interaction across the colleague lifecycle.

In addition to a salary of £48,000 we offer a growing range of benefits, including:

  • 31 days' annual leave pro-rata (including bank holidays), increasing with length of service
  • Hybrid working based at our Thame office at least two days per week
  • Cycle2Work scheme
  • Stream: access to a percentage of your pay as you earn it, plus money management tools
  • Blue Light Card : discounts at shops, restaurants, travel and days out (provided at no cost to you)
  • 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family
  • Life Assurance and pension scheme
  • Company-funded health cash plan

Inclusion, accessibility and our commitment to diversity

Diversity is key to what we do. Life would be dull, and change slow, if we all thought the same way. We want colleagues who bring different perspectives, backgrounds and experiences, and we know this makes us stronger and better for the people we support.

We are committed to being Disability Confident and we guarantee to interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

We're also committed to making our recruitment process as accessible as possible. If you need any reasonable adjustments at any stage, for example, accessible formats, support with the application form or adjustments for interview, you can tell us in your application or contact our recruitment team to discuss what you need.

Ready to join us?

If you're excited about using systems, data and simple processes to make a real difference for colleagues in a values-led charity, this could be your next role

If you are offered the role, you will be required to have a DBS check at the relevant level, which we'll cover the cost for.

Apply today to become our People Operations Manager and help us shape the future of how we support and empower our people.
