People Coordinator - People Services
Reports to: People Hub Manager
Contact term: This is a full-time, permanent position on Crick terms and conditions of employment.
The Francis Crick Institute is Europe’s largest biomedical research institute under one roof. Our world‑class scientists and staff collaborate on vital research to help prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, infectious diseases and neurodegenerative conditions.
The Crick is a place for collaboration, innovation and exploration across many disciplines. A space where the brightest minds can pursue big and bold ideas and discover answers to crucial scientific questions. We support them in a dynamic environment which fosters excellence with state‑of‑the‑art infrastructure, cutting‑edge facilities, and a creative and curious culture. We’ve removed traditional boundaries of departments, divisions and disciplines and instead have an open approach that supports every researcher. This gives us the freedom to take risks and carry out high‑quality, pioneering research. Creating a space for discovery without boundaries helps us to turn our science into benefits for human health and the economy.
Our team of People Coordinators are the first point of contact for candidates, hiring managers, employees, and operations non‑employees, escalating issues to the People Partnering team, managers, or other People teams where necessary.
We currently have two People Coordinators roles available in our team, with one of the roles predominantly supporting the Total Reward Team with various pay, reward and benefit responsibilities alongside supporting their own customer group.
As a People Coordinator, you will provide an efficient, proactive administrative and operational service from the start of the employee lifecycle to the end, including accurate data processing for new starters, employees, and non‑employees. You will develop a deep understanding of your customer group in terms of movements and changes by working closely with the People Partnering team and Science Operations Administrators.
You will be using our Workday system, which plays a central role in how we operate at the Crick, seamlessly supporting functions across HR, Finance, IT administration, and cross‑departmental collaboration.
Additionally, if you’re considering applying for the People Coordinator (Total Rewards) position, you’ll be an essential part of the Total Rewards team, actively contributing and supporting the team with key initiatives such as the annual pay review, market adjustments, and statutory wage increases. You’ll also handle compensation and payroll inquiries, among a variety of other dynamic and rewarding responsibilities.
This role offers a high level of autonomy, giving you the chance to take ownership of your work while also contributing to exciting projects that will enhance your skills and broaden your HR experience. If you're ready to take the next step in your career and are eager to continue your professional development whilst also developing further understanding of HR, we’d love to hear from you.
