People Change Lead

AWE is recruiting for a People Change Lead to manage the people side of change initiatives within the organisation.

Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking. Plans to relocate role to Green Park (Reading), from December 2025.

Package: From £61,040 to £85,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

Responsibilities

As the People Change Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing frameworks, tools, processes and guidance that ensure people change is implemented in a safe, robust and fair manner that stands up to external scrutiny.

You will work closely with project teams, senior leaders, and stakeholders to ensure that people change initiatives meet objectives on time and within budget. This includes:

  • Create and hold the people change plan for AWE, ensuring that change is delivered to time, cost and quality, and all risks are successfully identified and managed
  • Lead a team who develop and implement people change frameworks and plans that ensure smooth implementation with and minimised resistance
  • Horizon-scan, identifying and managing anticipated resistance
Qualifications

We do need you to have the following:

  • In-depth understanding and practical experience with employment regulations and best-practice organisational change
  • Knowledge and experience of managing the implementation of change, including an understanding of the change requirements for people systems, internal and external teams
  • Proven leadership skills with the capacity to engage and influence stakeholders, including those at Executive level

Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

  • Experience of navigating employment law and consulting with Trade Unions
  • Delivering organisational change within a regulated industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different geographical locations with diverse needs and stakeholders
  • Communication skills, and workshop facilitation
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills
  • Skilled in providing clarity amid uncertainty and competing priorities
  • Ability to broker pragmatic solutions that strike the right balance between competing requirements
  • Team leadership skills

You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Hybrid Working

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 3 days onsite per week.
