Job summary

A large charitable organisation is seeking a People Advisor for a short-term fully remote contract. In this role, you will support the People Team with complex employee relations cases and provide expert advice on employment law. The ideal candidate should have CIPD level 5, experience managing ER cases, and excellent communication skills. The position offers a competitive rate of £20-£21 per hour for a full-time role requiring 35 hours a week.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Advisor to join a large charitable organisation on a short term fully remote contract. In this role, you’ll support the People Team in supporting on complex employee relations cases and you will be providing expert advice to Line Managers on employment law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on employee relations matters such as disciplinary, grievance, performance, sickness absence, and whistleblowing
  • Maintain accurate HR records and oversee the integrity of the HR system
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and internal policies across all HR activities
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment law
  • Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disputes
  • Mediate conflicts between employees and management to maintain positive relationships
  • Manage disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans consistently
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and company policies to reduce legal risk
  • Collaborate with legal teams on complex employee relations issues
  • Deliver training for managers on conflict resolution and performance management
  • Monitor employee morale and engagement; recommend improvement initiatives
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • CIPD level 5 and above
  • Experience managing complex ER cases from start to finish
  • Experience working in a HR environment in a Charity
