Job summary

Legal & General, a leading UK financial services group, is seeking a qualified Actuary to lead actuarial loading on complex defined benefit pension schemes. You will interpret scheme rules, validate data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate calculation logic and governance across the loading process.

The role focuses on GMP equalisation, actuarial assurance, and translating requirements into robust system specifications within our Institutional Retirement platform.

Qualifications

• FIA qualification or equivalent status.
• Strong technical knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes.
• Experience interpreting complex benefit structures and scheme documentation.
• Experience with administration systems (ALPS/PPS desirable).
• Confidence reviewing actuarial calculations and providing professional assurance.
• Ability to explain complex actuarial requirements clearly to technical and operational colleagues.

We are looking for a Qualified Actuary with a strong technical DB background. You will help us onboard increasingly complex Defined Benefit pension schemes, provide actuarial assurance and contribute to how pension rules and calculations are implemented within our administration platforms.

What you'll be doing:
