Job summary

Primark is seeking a Pension and Risk Advisor to support day-to-day management of pension and risk benefit programmes across the UK, Ireland and selected international markets. You’ll work with pension administrators, payroll, HR colleagues, and providers to ensure accurate, compliant processes.

You’ll be the first contact for pension/risk queries and support governance activities, communications, and projects while developing expertise across a broad range of responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in-house or consultancy pension role in UK/IRL.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Proficient Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with pension providers or administration processes.
• Experience using Workday or similar HR systems.
• Familiarity with pension auto enrolment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support pension scheme governance, renewals, provider reviews, risk audits and compliance monitoring.
• Maintain governance frameworks, policies and scheme records for regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical support for pension schemes across UK, Ireland and international markets via Workday.
• First point of contact for pension/risk enquiries and employee communications.
• Manage death-in-service and end-to-end complex income protection claim administration.
• Oversee Auto Enrolment compliance and liaise with payroll and finance for contributions.
• Perform pension data reconciliations, QA, and validation for reporting.
• Support pension and benefits projects and assist wider Benefits team during peaks.

What You'll Do

The Pension and Risk Advisor supports the day-to-day management of pension and risk benefit programmes across the UK, Ireland, and selected international markets. Working closely with external pension administrators, payroll teams, HR colleagues, and pension/risk providers, the role ensures pension and risk processes are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established procedures.

The role acts as a first point of contact for pension and risk related queries and supports operational activities, member communications, governance activities, and pension/risk projects.

• Support pension scheme and risk benefit governance activities, including annual renewals, provider reviews, risk assessments, audits, and compliance monitoring programmes.
• Maintain governance frameworks, policies, process documentation, and scheme records to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and internal control requirements.
• Provide technical support for pension schemes across the UK, Ireland, and international markets, including pension-related transactions, administration requests, and record maintenance within Workday.
• Act as a first point of contact for pension and risk benefit enquiries, supporting employee communications, education activities, and pension information preparation.
• Manage death-in-service claims and the end-to-end administration of complex income protection claims, ensuring timely processing and accurate record keeping.
• Oversee Auto Enrolment compliance activities and partner with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate pension contribution processing and regulatory compliance.
• Perform pension data reconciliations, quality assurance reviews, and validation exercises to ensure data integrity and support accurate scheme operation and reporting.
• Support pension and benefits projects as required and provide administrative support to the wider Benefits team during peak activity periods.

• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support and engage a broad stakeholder group.
• Good Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
