Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Pension Actuarial Consultant. The role involves ensuring accurate and efficient execution of client tasks and assignments, requiring exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and effective multitasking.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and coordinate letters and reports with minimal guidance.
- Supervise phases of actuarial valuations and special projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare materials and attend client meetings, presenting to clients and prospects.
- Implement new services and assist scheme consultants with pension scheme consultancy aspects.
- Coordinate and review project assignments for timely and accurate delivery.
- Assist in developing and presenting proposals for consulting services.
- Proactively provide consulting services and develop responsive solutions.
- Achieve billable hours objectives through quality client deliverables.
- Ensure work is completed within budget, maintaining quality and timeliness.
- Explain and analyze pros and cons of different options to clients.
- Utilize relevant tools, including regulatory guidance and accounting standards.
- Maintain client contact regarding work and inquiries.
- Listen to clients’ needs and articulate solutions.
- Grow client relationships and improve service efficiency.
- Collaborate with other business lines on projects and client relations.
- Assist in preparing client invoices.
- Support hiring, training, and motivating junior staff, providing feedback and managing performance.
- Work effectively within a team environment.
- Improve work processes, delegate, and supervise junior staff.
- Seek out new opportunities, accept challenges and responsibilities.
- Maintain knowledge of marketplace benefits products.
- Participate in and lead training activities to increase expertise.
- Share work products across the company.
- Pursue actuarial credentials through ongoing professional development.
- Peer review own work and ensure quality standards.
- Maintain accurate time recording and client charging.
- Stay informed about regulatory requirements.

About You
- Substantial experience in actuarial consultancy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proactive team player.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Computer literate.
- Proven management skills.
- FIA/FFA qualified.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
