Job summary

The Breastfeeding Network is seeking a Peer Supporter in Southampton to provide bedside breastfeeding support within the Princess Anne Hospital maternity wards. The role also involves occasional antenatal lactation education and close collaboration with the NHS Infant Feeding Maternity Team and Family Hubs.

The fixed-term contract runs until 31 March 2027, with 14 hours per week, mostly evenings and weekends. Start date is 1 October 2026; closing date 15 September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside breastfeeding support within maternity wards of Princess Anne Hospital.
• Deliver antenatal support and education on lactation and infant feeding as needed.
• Collaborate with NHS Infant Feeding Maternity Team and Family Hubs.

Job Information: The peer supporter will provide bedside breastfeeding support within the maternity wards of Princess Anne Hospital, and they may sometimes be required to deliver antenatal support and education on lactation and infant feeding; working closely with the NHS Infant Feeding Maternity Team and Family Hubs.
