An established industry player is seeking a Peer Mentor and Volunteer Coordinator to lead volunteer programs and peer mentor apprenticeships. Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people from accessing the support they need to live a valued life. We address poverty and disadvantage through mental health, substance misuse, housing, and related support services.
We operate nearly 200 services across England with around 3,500 staff and volunteers supporting approximately 125,000 people annually.

The North Tyneside Recovery Partnership provides support for individuals facing challenges with drug and alcohol use within North Tyneside. This service is provided by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Waythrough from 1st April 2025.
The Peer Mentor and Volunteer Coordinator will collaborate with the Area Manager and Volunteer Development Manager to lead peer mentor apprenticeships and volunteer programs. They will develop, implement, and sustain volunteer and apprentice roles, ensuring all staff and stakeholders are aware and adequately supported through training and supervision.
The successful candidate will also develop training and induction plans for volunteers and apprentices to meet organizational standards. The role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, compassion, and a good understanding of substance use issues, with experience in multi-agency working.
