Job summary

Senovo is recruiting a PECS Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN education setting in Southwark. You will join a committed team helping children access learning, build confidence and make progress.

Key responsibilities include supporting students one-to-one or in groups, following EHCPs and adapting resources to enable participation. The role focuses on safeguarding, inclusive support and close collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in education, SEN, care, therapy, youth or community settings.
• Patience, reliability and strong communication are essential.
• Good safeguarding understanding and inclusive support.
• Experience with PECS or SEN classroom support is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent classroom, one-to-one or small-group support.
• Follow EHCPs and strategies set by teaching and SEN staff.
• Adapt resources and communication for pupil participation and progress.
• Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing.

What we are looking for

• Relevant experience with children or young people in education, SEN, care, therapy, youth or community settings.
• Patience, reliability, professional boundaries and strong communication.
• A practical understanding of safeguarding and inclusive support.
• Useful experience includes sen, autism support, communication needs, PECS, safeguarding, SEN classroom support.
• QTS is not required for this support role.
