Empowering Learning is recruiting an experienced and motivated PE Teacher & Subject Leader to join a welcoming SEN school near High Peak from January. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for a PE specialist who is passionate about inclusive education and ready to take on subject leadership responsibility within a supportive SEN setting.

The Role:
  • Lead and deliver high-quality, inclusive PE lessons tailored to pupils with special educational needs
  • Take responsibility for PE curriculum development, planning, and progression across the school
  • Monitor standards, assess pupil progress, and support whole-school improvement in PE
  • Work collaboratively with SLT, SEN staff, and support teams
  • Promote physical wellbeing, confidence, and positive behaviour through sport and movement
  • Ensure safe practice and safeguarding at all times
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching PE, ideally within an SEN or specialist setting
  • Demonstrates leadership skills or readiness to step into a subject leader role
  • Is adaptable, patient, and committed to inclusive practice
  • Has strong behaviour management and communication skills
