PE Teacher – Challenging Behaviour School – Scunthorpe

Location: Scunthorpe Salary: £140 – £200 per day (depending on experience) Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Start Date: ASAP Agency: GSL Education

Are you a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher with a flair for inspiring young people through sport and physical activity? GSL Education are looking to appoint a PE Teacher to work within a specialist school in Scunthorpe that supports students with challenging behaviour and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is a full-time, long-term role, ideal for someone who can engage students through creative, inclusive, and structured PE lessons while promoting teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to a range of abilities and behavioural needs.
  • Create a safe and motivating learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, teamwork, and physical wellbeing through sport.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and pastoral teams to promote students’ social and emotional development.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in an SEMH or alternative provision environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour de-escalation skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, term time only.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education).
