The Role

As a PE Teacher, you will deliver engaging and accessible physical education lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners, encouraging participation, teamwork and personal wellbeing. You will play a key role in promoting healthy lifestyles, developing physical skills and building self-esteem through sport and activity.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can adapt sessions to meet diverse needs and inspire pupils who may have previously disengaged from PE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver PE lessons for KS3 & KS4 that promote fitness, skill development and teamwork
  • Adapt activities to meet the needs of learners with SEND or SEMH
  • Lead a range of sports, physical activities and outdoor learning opportunities
  • Promote an inclusive, safe and motivating environment for all students
  • Track progress, complete assessments and maintain accurate records
  • Support pupils in developing social skills, confidence and resilience through sport
  • Contribute to whole-school health and wellbeing initiatives
  • Lead or assist with extracurricular sports clubs, activities or events
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, the SENDCo and pastoral team
  • Uphold safeguarding, behaviour and inclusion policies
  • Engage in CPD, training and wider school life
Requirements
  • QTS or QTLS (Essential)
  • Experience teaching PE at KS3 and / or KS4
  • Ability to modify physical activities for learners with additional needs
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A passion for sport, physical activity and motivating young people
  • Understanding of SEND or SEMH needs (training provided)
  • A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
  • Willingness to contribute to whole-school physical activity and wellbeing
