Job summary

Cheshire East Council is recruiting drivers for go-too, its demand responsive transport service, extending from a Nantwich pilot across the borough. The role combines driving passenger vehicles with acting as a Passenger Assistant when required, supporting SEND children to school safely and comfortably.

Rolling shifts cover early, day, late and Saturday work; paid fast-track CPC/PCV training is available for those without licences. Meeting the medical standard for driving is required.

Qualifications

• CPC (D) / PCV training or willingness to undertake paid fast-track CPC/PCV training
• Emergency first aid training or willingness to undertake it
• Meets the required medical standards for driving

Responsibilities

• Deliver a professional, welcoming and reliable transport service as part of the go-too network
• Drive passenger vehicles across the borough as part of the go-too service
• Act as a Passenger Assistant when required, supporting SEND passengers
• Ensure SEND children travel to school safely and comfortably
• Use the tablet-based route and booking system on board
• Support passengers of all ages on everyday journeys such as work, education, healthcare, shopping and leisure
• Work in line with relevant safety standards, policies and procedures
• Represent Cheshire East Council and go-too with a professional, positive approach at all times
