Job summary

London Hire Group is seeking PCV Drivers to provide safe home-to-school transport and assist with passenger support. You may operate the passenger lift and support the Passenger Assistant as required.

The role emphasizes patient, reliable service, adherence to safety checks, vehicle duties, and courteous communication with service users. Employment is casual, with split shifts and term-time style flexibility.

Qualifications

• Hold a full unrestricted D driving licence with up to 3 penalty points.
• CPC qualification card up to date.
• Minimum two years’ experience driving a bus or coach.
• Willing to obtain DVLA Tachograph card.
• Willing to undertake DBS check.
• Current D4 medical examination report.

Responsibilities

• Drive the vehicle safely, adhering to local road restrictions and speed limits.
• Perform mandatory vehicle checks before each trip and report defects.
• Secure all passengers and wheelchair users with appropriate restraints.
• Ensure adequate fuel for journeys and refuel as needed.
• Keep the vehicle clean and maintain weekly cleanliness.
• Assist with seating adjustments and parking in allocated bays.
• Operate the passenger lift and assist passengers entering/exiting.
• Communicate politely with passengers and clients.
• Assist the Passenger Assistant with duties as required.
