A primary care network in Lewisham seeks a highly motivated manager. The role involves coordinating primary health care projects, supporting the Clinical Director, and managing recruitment processes. Candidates must have strong management experience, excellent organizational skills, and a good understanding of HR and operational management. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual tojoin Aplos Health PCN to work as a manager. PCNs are critical to the changingNHS and are the focal point of all locally developed planning and servicedelivery. You will need to have proven management experience in a similarrole, ideally within the NHS/healthcare setting or in a similarindustry or sector.
You must be able to work independently and be focused on findingsolutions to issues. You will also need strong organisational skills and beable to work flexibly, calmly and efficiently, whilst managing staff who willreport to you. The ability to multi-task will be important. You must have agood understanding of HR and recruitment at an organisational level, as well asbeing able to offer general operational support to the organisation. Thisincludes being able to line manage clinical and non-clinical PCN staff, leadingon contractual issues and support staff development. You should also be able topresent confidently in meetings to diverse audiences and be well-versed inusing Microsoft Office packages.
Tocoordinate and support the delivery of high quality primary health careprojects and systems within Aplos Health PCN.
Tosupport the PCN Clinical Director and Board to ensure the smooth running of thePCN.
Tobe involved in the management and development of the PCN
Tobe accountable for the submission of performance and quality reports to theCommissioning Body.
Towork alongside the lead Practice and their financial infrastructure.
Tomonitor and evaluate effective implementation of the Direct EnhancedService contract, reporting on milestones and key performanceindicators.
Toprovide support, facilitation and management of a complete end to endemployment cycle of PCN employees including; recruitment, on-boarding,appraisals, performance management, promotions, contract addendums,disciplinary investigations, grievances and complaint handling, general HRenquiries, work permits/visas and contract terminations.
Identifyclinical and organisational improvements to enhance and improve integrated careand services to patients.
Developand run administrative systems for Aplos Health PCN projects.
Tobe responsible for the delivery of projects as approved by the Board withinbudget, timescales & national guidelines.
Aplos Health PCN was founded in 2019 and consists of four practices inthe London Borough of Lewisham -Sydenham Green Group Practice, The Vale MedicalCentre, Wells Park Practice and Woolstone Medical Centre. We provide care to apatient population of 50,000. Over the past few years and despite a globalpandemic we have developed excellent working relationships between thepractices. We have run educational events for patients, started an adolescentand contraceptive clinic and are now looking forward to developing furtherinnovative pathways and services for our patients. The PCN is growing rapidly,and we have identified the need for further managerial support to ensure wecontinue our successful trajectory.
Job Summary and Main Duties
Tocoordinate and support the delivery of high quality primary health careprojects and systems within Aplos Health PCN.
Tosupport the PCN Clinical Director and Board to ensure the smooth running of thePCN.
Tobe involved in the management and development of the PCN

Torepresent Aplos Health PCN in cross organisation meetings when agreed e.g. ICB,INTs meetings.
Tomonitor and evaluate effective implementation of the Direct EnhancedService contract, reporting on milestones and key performanceindicators.
Toensure staff within Aplos Health PCN are working towards a common frameworkwhere desirable.
Developand run administrative systems for Aplos Health PCN projects.
Tobe responsible for the delivery of projects as approved by the Board withinbudget, timescales & national guidelines.
HR Duties
Toconvene and lead relevant meetings, ensuring outcomes are recorded and sharedwith member Practices and key stakeholders e.g. PCN Board meetings
Tolead on training for PCN wide staff and projects.
Toprovide support, facilitation and management of a complete end to endemployment cycle of PCN employees including; recruitment, on-boarding,appraisals, performance management, promotions, contract addendums,disciplinary investigations, grievances and complaint handling, general HRenquiries, work permits/visas and contract terminations.
Operation and Organisational Duties
Organisethe procurement of office equipment, supplies and services within agreedbudgets.
Beaware of performance and quality indicators for all aspects of Primary Care.
Liaiseand work with different practices on an ad-hoc project basis.
Performance and Quality Indicators
Thepost-holder should strive for continuous improvement, both personally and inthe services that the PCN delivers. The post-holder should, as a minimum:
Beaware of local and national quality standards for all aspects of primary care.Ensure that the PCN meets all Health and Social Care Act requirements.
Assistin the production of information for clinical audit as requested by othermembers of staff or the Board.
Workwith the ICB to validate patients information, performing regular checks andquality audits.
Effectivelymanage their own time, workload and resources.
Ensuringpersonal KPIs are achieved. These to be determined during your probationaryperiod.
Strategy and Development
Whilstnot the primary functions of this role, opportunities and future developmentare what will drive the PCN forward successfully. As such, the post-holdershould be aware of these opportunities and report them to the ClinicalDirector. As a minimum they should:
Identifypotential clinical and organisational improvements to enhance and improveintegrated care and services to patients.
Representthe Board at any external meetings as requested by the Board, taking theBoards view forward.
Reportback to the Board after these meetings.
Exploreall possibilities for future development with outside agencies.
Contributingto the implementation of services
Developnew policies, standards, SOPs and guidelines as required.
Discusswith other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines willaffect own work.
Participatein audit where appropriate.
Other Duties
Tocarry out other duties that are required within the role as it evolves withinthe development of the organisation.

Flexibility
Dueto the nature of Primary Care PCNs, the nature of this post will undoubtedlychange. As such, flexibility is essential. The postholder is required to carryout any duties that may reasonably be requested by the Partners, ClinicalDirector or Management team.
NoJob Description can give a complete account of all aspects of the post.Therefore, from time to time, the demands of the organisation will requireadjustments in the responsibilities of the post. No such adjustments however,may be made without the agreement of the PCN and Clinical Director or withoutfull consultation with the post-holder.
