Job description

Gemini Tec is a leading electronics manufacturing company and now part of the TechPoint Group. We are one of the largest UK-owned contract electronics manufacturer (CEM) and in August 2025 we are opening a world-class facility in Basingstoke.

We supply EMS and supply chain services to leading UK and European technology companies. We operate from a modern, clean environment to support customers in the commercial, space, defence, transport, audio, motorsport, and instrumentation sectors.

Role: PCBA Assembly Technicians

We require high standards of PCB soldering skills to build products for leading technology companies. You would work within a small team and be responsible for manufacturing complex products for IPC class level 3.

Our technicians are required to read and fully understand manufacturing drawings/route cards, including component types and orientation. We have in-house trainers to certify staff to IPC standards.

Duties include:

• Soldering a wide range of PTH components to IPC or J-STD level
• Soldering to IPC class 2 & 3 and/or J-STD level
• Manufacturing simple cable assemblies/Small mechanical assemblies and enclosures
• General duties include board washing, breakout, press-fit parts
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and documentation for build conformance
• A proactive approach to managing and reporting to the quality manager
• Use of our computer-based system for time booking and recording production notes

Additional skills sought:

Currently or previously certified to IPC standards

Re-work of SMT components

Use of X-Ray inspection equipment

Operating and programming selective soldering and/or wave soldering machines.

Core Hours:

Mon-Thursday 8.30 - 5.00, Friday 8.30 - 4.00.

All positions are permanent and based on a 39-hour week.
