Job summary

Brightwork Limited is seeking a Payroll Assistant Manager in the Glasgow area, offering hybrid work with 2 days in the office and 3 days remote. You will lead a payroll team to deliver accurate and timely payroll services across a varied client portfolio, while handling complex payroll matters as an escalation point.

The role requires proven senior payroll experience, people management skills, and strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation.

Qualifications

• Senior payroll experience with leadership in a payroll team.
• Experience managing multiple payrolls and deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance.
• Experience using IRIS, STAR or BrightPay is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Payroll Advisors, Analysts and Assistants.
• Oversee day-to-day team performance, workloads and service delivery.
• Manage a portfolio of payroll clients and end-to-end payroll processing.
• Escalate complex payroll queries and ensure accuracy and deadlines.
• Build strong client relationships and support process improvements.
