Payroll Supervisor - Torquay

Full-time, with flexible working hours

Permanent

Up to £35000 depending on experience.

The company/role:

Butler Rose are recruiting for a market leading organisation covering a range of offices within the UK and have a reputation for excellence and growth. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee the payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth service for all employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the day-to-day payroll operations for weekly and monthly paid staff.
  • Manage, support and develop the payroll team.
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, RTI submissions and pension auto-enrolment.
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations, year-end processes (P60, P11D, P45), and statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP).
  • Liaise with HR and Finance teams to resolve queries and improve processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure GDPR compliance at all times.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous payroll experience in a supervisory or senior payroll role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. Sage, Iris, ADP, or similar).
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and people management skills.
  • CIPP qualification (or working towards) desirable.
