Job summary

Môrwell Talent Solutions is recruiting a Payroll Specialist to join a Cardiff-based organisation on a fixed-term contract of up to six months. The role sits within the People/HR function, supporting payroll, HR administration and the employee lifecycle, with hybrid working and a quick handover.

The successful candidate will have payroll administration experience, strong knowledge of payroll processes, and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll administration or similar payroll-focused role.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
• Experience maintaining payroll and pension records.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and organisational skills; work independently.

Responsibilities

• Managing and administering the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
• Maintaining accurate payroll and pension records.
• Processing employee changes, including starters, leavers and salary changes.
• Administering employee benefits and supporting benefit queries.
• Providing support and responding to employee and manager queries.
• Maintaining and updating HR, payroll and employee records.
• Administering the HRIS, payroll and benefits platforms.
• Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Preparing payroll and HR-related reports and information.
• Ensuring employee records comply with GDPR and information security.
• Assisting with recruitment administration, references and background checks.
• Providing first-line HR queries support and assisting with welfare processes.
