Job summary

Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading business in the search for a Payroll Process Analyst to join a major finance transformation programme, supporting the Payroll workstream.

This role is based four days per week at the client's office in Cumbernauld and offers the opportunity to document, analyse and improve end-to-end payroll processes while collaborating with Finance and HR to deliver a compliant operating model.

Qualifications

• Experience in business process analysis, continuous improvement or transformation environments.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls and compliance requirements.
• Experience applying LEAN or process optimisation methodologies.
• Exposure to finance change or project delivery programmes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Experience across Finance and HR functions is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the Payroll workstream and coordinate inputs from key stakeholders.
• Document payroll process maps, operating principles and service expectations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation across the end-to-end payroll cycle.
• Apply LEAN and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce inefficiencies and strengthen controls.
• Conduct root cause analysis to improve payroll accuracy, compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Support design and documentation of payroll processes, including inputs, calculations, reconciliations and reporting.
• Develop process requirements, KPI frameworks, reporting requirements and governance materials.
• Track risks, issues and dependencies across the workstream.
• Support payroll system, workflow and readiness activities as part of the transformation programme.
• Assist with implementation, go-live activities and handover.

Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading business in the search for a Payroll Process Analyst to join a major finance transformation programme, supporting the Payroll workstream.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Business Process Analyst, Payroll Specialist or Process Improvement professional to play a key role in transforming and enhancing payroll processes across a complex organisation.

Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, HR and the wider business, you will support the development of a more efficient, controlled and compliant payroll operating model. You'll be involved in documenting, analysing and improving end-to-end payroll processes while helping to deliver a high-profile transformation programme.

The role will be based four days per week from our client's office in Cumbernauld.

The Role

You will provide analytical, process improvement and project delivery support across the Payroll workstream, helping to identify opportunities for standardisation, enhance operational efficiency and support the successful implementation of future-state payroll processes.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience within business process analysis, continuous improvement, payroll operations or transformation environments.
• A strong understanding of payroll processes, controls and compliance requirements.
• Experience applying LEAN, process optimisation or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Exposure to finance change, project delivery or transformation programmes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
