Job Overview

This is a hybrid role based at our Doncaster Group Support Centre, with 2-3 days a week onsite. To assist the Group Payroll Manager in delivering accurate, timely payrolls across the organisation while ensuring full compliance with statutory legislation and pension governance requirements. This includes overseeing PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and pension administration; testing system functionality; coordinating project resources; and escalating any risks or deviations to ensure all payroll and pension obligations are met according to agreed schedules.

What you'll be doing
  • Support the Group Payroll Manager in ensuring all key tasks and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of statutory legislation relating to PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and pensions.
  • Conduct SIT and UAT testing of system functionality to ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of all payrolls and ensure completion of all associated payments.
  • Manage the processing and finalisation of the Sofology parallel payrolls in line with agreed schedules.
  • Provide day-to-day management of the project team, allocating resources as needed.
  • Escalate any deviations from the project plan or timelines to the Group Payroll Manager promptly.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of statutory legislation related to PAYE, National Insurance, and statutory payments.
Experience and Qualifications
  • 5+ years payroll experience (CIPP Qualification desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting new technologies and/or system changes
  • Knowledge and experience of MHR ITrent, Iris Cascade and Microsoft applications, ideally G Suite
  • Experience testing new functionality and training team members
