This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll administration or coordination experience who enjoys structured processes, working with sensitive data, and collaborating with HR, Finance and business leaders. If you're confident managing deadlines, validating payroll inputs and maintaining strong controls, this role offers genuine scope to grow within a supportive, expanding organisation.

About the Role

You'll act as the central link between HR, Finance, Business Unit Leaders and the managed payroll provider, ensuring payroll data is accurate, deadlines are met, queries are resolved and compliance is maintained. The role is hands-on, fast-paced and ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, process and stakeholder interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Ownership & Delivery

  • Own end-to-end payroll delivery across UK and selected non-UK entities
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining a high standard of delivery (c.99.5%+ accuracy)
  • Act as a key point of continuity across payroll cycles, particularly during transition and integration activity
  • Provide cover and peer review within the dual Payroll Partner model

Systems, Automation & Process Improvement

  • Drive payroll automation and standardisation, particularly across JUK entities
  • Align payroll processes to the company operating model, reducing manual intervention and reliance on external support
  • Work closely with HR Operations and Finance to improve integrations, data flow, and reporting
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

Acquisitions, Integration & Change

  • Support payroll onboarding for acquisitions, including due diligence, transition, and post-acquisition alignment
  • Lead or support TUPE transfers and payroll migrations
  • Ensure smooth integration of new entities into payroll processes and systems
  • Act as a stabilising presence during periods of change

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain strong payroll governance, controls, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with UK statutory requirements, GDPR, and audit standards
  • Support payroll audits and ensure clear ownership and accountability across processes
  • Stakeholder & Business Partnering
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to support payroll-related queries and decision-making
  • Work closely with the other Payroll Partner and CPO to ensure alignment and consistency
  • Support payroll reporting, reconciliations, journals, and cost allocations

BENEFITS & ASSOCIATED PAYMENTS

  • Own the end-to-end coordination of payroll-related benefits, ensuring accurate and timely processing (e.g. pensions, health, allowances, bonus and ad hoc payments)
  • Act as functional owner of the benefits platform, ensuring data integrity, smooth operation, and alignment with payroll and HR systems
  • Support the build and ongoing optimisation of the benefits platform, including system improvements, automation, and user experience
  • Partner closely with the CPO on benefits renewals, supporting market reviews and ensuring our client remains competitive from a cost and offering perspective
  • Work with brokers and providers to manage relationships, resolve issues, and continuously improve service delivery
  • Support the development and rollout of a more standardised, scalable benefits offering
  • Explore and help shape a global benefits approach as part of the new platform, ensuring consistency where appropriate while allowing for local requirements
  • Ensure consistent and compliant treatment of benefits across payrolls, including alignment with statutory requirements and internal controls
Personal Qualities
  • Highly organised, methodical and deadline-driven.
  • Detail-focused with strong error-spotting ability.
  • Confident chasing information and holding stakeholders accountable.
  • Calm under pressure and able to juggle competing priorities.
  • Practical, solutions-focused and keen to improve processes.
  • Collaborative, approachable and trusted by colleagues.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
