At GXO, we’re looking for a Payroll MI Analyst to join us on a 9‑month fixed‑term contract. You’ll dive into data reporting, exception analysis, and process improvements—helping us standardise and streamline the way we work.

Based at our Northampton head office with flexible home‑working options (up to 3 days in the office), this is your chance to make an impact at the heart of our payroll operations

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £55,000 per annum. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Support the payroll team and wider payroll stakeholder group with the analysis of payroll data, identifying and escalating any omissions or errors
  • Provide monthly management and payroll frequency reports along with payroll performance reporting
  • Develop a detailed understanding of our payroll data requirements and become a subject matter expert for the reporting tools used
  • Support and lead on continuous improvement and project activities to develop the payroll processes and reporting tools

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • A solid background in payroll with a strong track record of working with large amounts of data and reporting, you’ll need to be a confident user of a data analytics tool such as Power BI, Google Analytics or Tableau, SQL knowledge & advanced MS Access. If you have knowledge of Java or Python knowledge this would be big tick for us!
  • Familiarity of working with data lake/warehouse(s) with VBA knowledge to remove manual activity
  • Strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision
  • Hands‑on and in‑depth experience of working with ADP Global View, SAP or similar payroll products
  • Ability to coach and mentor
