Overview

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Manager to join a not for profit organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role involves managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, and providing support within the accounting and finance department.

The employer is a not for profit organisation that operates within the accounting and finance sector. They are a medium-sized organisation known for their impactful work and commitment to their mission.

Description
  • Act as the main point of contact and lead adviser for all payroll, pension and related queries, including complex issues and escalations.
  • Take full ownership of end-to-end payroll delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to all deadlines for current and future payrolls.
  • Provide expert technical payroll advice, resolve complaints, and drive continuous improvement to prevent errors and reoccurrences.
  • Ensure full compliance with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pension regulations, statutory deductions, and submissions
  • Manage relationships with pension providers and employee benefit schemes, including auto-enrolment and salary sacrifice arrangements.
  • Oversee day-to-day payroll processing (starters, leavers, variations, timesheets, absences, parental leave, court orders, and adjustments).
  • Lead payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, year-end processes, regulatory returns, and payments to third parties and Finance.
  • Act as payroll system subject matter expert, managing system updates, testing, payroll elements, data transfers, and cost/project codes.
  • Train and support colleagues and managers, contribute to people strategy and pay modelling, update policies, support the wider accountancy department and maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
