Position: Payroll Manager
Location: Newport
Hours of Work: Full-time
Salary: D.O.E

A well-established accountancy practice in Newport is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take the lead on their growing client payroll portfolio. This is a full-time office based position, offering the chance to manage around 150 client payrolls across weekly, fortnightly and monthly frequencies.

You ll oversee all aspects of client payroll delivery, including Sage payroll processing, compliance, and client liaison. The portfolio includes a range of clients from sole directors to retail businesses and those with NHS pension schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll for 150+ clients
  • Supervise and support the payroll team (currently Morgan and Becki)
  • Ensure all RTI, pension, and statutory requirements are met
  • Manage client relationships, providing guidance and payroll advice
  • Identify process improvements and maintain high accuracy standards
Key Requirements
  • Strong payroll experience within an accountancy practice or bureau
  • Confident using Sage Payroll
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • CIPP qualification (or willingness to study) advantageous
