James Gray Associates is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function in Wiltshire. You will own a varied portfolio, oversee weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, and act as a trusted advisor to clients.
This role focuses on accuracy, compliance and service improvement, with a formal leadership element to develop the payroll team and streamline processes for multiple clients in a professional services environment.

You'lltake ownership of the wider payroll function, lead an establishedteam and become a key point of contact for a varied portfolio ofclients.It's an opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side ofpayroll but also wants to have a genuine influence on how apayroll service operates, develops and is delivered to clients.
Lead and develop the payroll team, setting high standards andsupporting ongoing professional development. Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of weekly, fortnightlyand monthly payrolls. Ensure payrolls are delivered accurately, compliantly and todeadline. Oversee CIS payroll and compliance, including submissions andclient reporting. Manage auto-enrolment pensions, from assessments through toprovider liaison and regulatory reporting. Become a trusted payroll adviser to clients, providing guidanceon legislation, payroll policies and workforce costs. Take ownership of more complex payroll matters includingstatutory payments, bonuses, incentives and terminations. Build strong relationships with clients, HMRC, pensionproviders and other key stakeholders. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improveefficiency and enhance the overall payroll offering.
3+ years' experience in a senior payroll position, preferablywithin a bureau or multi-client environment. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutoryrequirements and employment-related legislation. Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing a payrollteam. Confidence managing multiple payroll frequencies and complexcalculations. Strong client-facing and relationship management skills. Experience with payroll software; IRIS would be a distinctadvantage. CIPP qualification or equivalent practical payroll experience. Excellent attention to detail, organisation and problem-solvingability.
