Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking a skilled Payroll Manager to lead multi-client payrolls within a professional accountancy practice in Goole. You will ensure on-time, accurate payroll processing end-to-end, manage statutory payments, year-end routines and client queries, and support junior colleagues.

The ideal candidate has strong UK payroll legislation knowledge, experience with Payrite, BACS and CIS, and a proven ability to supervise and coordinate a payroll team while maintaining high

• Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC rules.
• Experience with Payrite is advantageous.

• Support client billing and debt collection where required.

Payroll Manager

Salary: Up to £42,000
Location: Goole, East Yorkshire
Working Pattern: Fully onsite
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role

An opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join an established accountancy practice, taking responsibility for multiple client payrolls while supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Process multiple client payrolls from end to end.
• Manage statutory payments, BACS, CIS, pensions, auto-enrolment and year-end processes.
• Handle Benefits in Kind / PBIK requirements.
• Complete manual calculations and Directors NI.
• Liaise directly with clients and resolve payroll queries.
• Manage multiple payroll deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy.
• Supervise team members and review payroll work.
• Support client billing and debt collection where required.

Ideal Candidate

• Accountancy practice payroll experience is essential.
• Strong experience managing multiple client payrolls.
• Excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Good knowledge of PBIK / Benefits in Kind.
• Confident across pensions, statutory payments, CIS, BACS and year-end.
• Previous Payrite experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Comfortable reviewing work and supporting other payroll team members.
• Strong client communication and organisational skills.
