About the role

The Payroll Consultant will be responsible for providing expert advice and assistance to clients on all aspects of payroll administration and compliance. The consultant will work closely with clients to understand their payroll needs and provide customised solutions to meet those needs.

What you’ll do
  • Assess clients' payroll systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions
  • Deliver accurate start to finish payroll process on a monthly / weekly basis for 1,500+ employees including filing monthly and annual reports with HMRC
  • Tax-year End - P11Ds, P60s & PSAs
  • Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner
  • Ensure adherence to all Legislation
  • Create journals and ad-hoc reports
  • Liaise with HMRC when required
  • Acting as the go-to expert for our customers (e.g. general payroll matters, possible issues, pitfalls, data inconsistencies or conflicts that impact the payroll processing and best practices to resolve).
  • Collaborating with our internal product and development team to solve technical challenges and complex payroll issues of our customers.
  • You identify & communicate improvement potentials for all internal payroll support processes and our payroll offering
  • Implement new features according business requirements

Skills and experience valued in the role

Essential :
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll administration, with a strong up to date understanding of payroll laws and regulations
  • Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Desirable :
  • Part or fully CIPP qualified or other relevant payroll certification is preferred
  • Implementation experience
