Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Payroll Advisor to manage end-to-end payroll for factory and office staff. This role involves ensuring compliance with UK payroll regulations, calculating variable payments, and resolving employee queries. Candidates should hold a CIPP qualification or be actively pursuing one, alongside demonstrated payroll experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Excel is also required. This is a permanent position based in Burton upon Trent, offering a salary range of £28,000–£29,000.

Qualifications

  • CIPP qualification or actively pursuing it.
  • Proven experience in payroll within manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong UK payroll legislation knowledge.
  • Experienced with Time & Attendance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for factory and office-based staff weekly/monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Calculate shift premiums, overtime, and bonuses.
  • Maintain payroll records in accordance with GDPR.
  • Resolve issues concerning Time & Attendance data.
  • Liaise with HR for accurate payroll processing.
  • Manage pension scheme administration.
  • Support year-end payroll activities.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries.
  • Assist in improving payroll processes.

Skills

CIPP qualification or working towards one
Attention to detail
