Overview

Our north Herefordshire based client requires a Payroll Assistant to join them on a full time, permanent basis. The main purpose of this role will be to assist the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for colleagues across their UK and Ireland sites

What you can expect
  • Annual salary: circa 28,000, depending on experience
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours
  • 33 days holidays including bank holidays
  • Discretionary 10% bonus based on company performance

What you will be doing
  • Verify and process weekly expense runs
  • Process weekly engineer timesheets and calculate overtime
  • Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for UK and Irish legislation under guidance from the payroll and purchase ledger supervisor
  • Respond to employee queries
  • Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards
What we are looking for
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • Administrative experience in a finance, payroll, HR or office environment
  • Basic understanding of the payroll process and awareness of statutory deductions
  • Willingness to learn payroll systems and procedures
  • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • Good communicator with willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed
