Payroll Assistant – Toddington – Hybrid (2 days in the office) – 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

Moto Hospitality Ltd is the largest operator of Motorway Service Areas in the UK offering a number of leading high street brands such as BP Forecourts, M&S Simply Foods, WH Smith, Costa Coffee, Burger King, KFC, Pret a Manger and West Cornwall Pasty. There are approximately 5,000 weekly paid and 950 monthly paid employees. The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, People Team, Operations and our outsourced Payroll Provider.

You will be responsible for:
  • Check systems interfaces to ensure accuracy of data input
  • Check and arrange authorisation of weekly and monthly payroll to strict deadlines
  • Log and resolve queries from Moto sites and Head Office
  • Action BACS rejections, recalls, exclusions and manual payments
  • Ensure third party payments are processed and reported as required
  • Prepare payroll balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Ensure company compliance with HMRC, Moto Business Policies and Procedures
  • Preparation and submission of year end returns and information
  • Establishing good relationships with the Key Stakeholders (Payroll Provider & People Partners)
  • Review and Prepare documentation relating to overpayments of employee holiday
  • Providing support to the Payroll Manager and other team members
  • Ad hoc tasks as required for the efficient running of the department
The candidate we are looking for will have:
  • Payroll experience is a must
  • Methodical approach to work
  • Good analytical ability, and computer skills
  • Ability to work out some manual payments will also be required
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a small team
