Job summary

A leading company in payroll services in the United Kingdom is looking for a Payroll Specialist to oversee the payroll process, ensure compliance with laws, and manage pension administration. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll management, proficiency with iTrent and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include processing payroll, overseeing statutory leave, and managing queries. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of payroll functions within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in Payroll.
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Experience of Pension administration.
  • Good Communication skills, Experience within the rail industry.
  • Experience of Public sector pensions.
  • Use of iTrent HRIS system.
  • CIPP Qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake timely and accurate payroll ensuring compliance.
  • Comply with pension regulations and administration.
  • Input data into the payroll system.
  • Act as first point of contact for payroll queries.
  • Process weekly and monthly payroll reports.
  • Handle new starters and leavers in payroll system.
  • Manage all pension related queries.

Responsibilities
  • To undertake a timely and accurate payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and tax obligations.
  • To comply with pension regulations and do administration for the company pension schemes
  • Responsible for the input into the payroll system
  • Acting as the first point of contact within the payroll team
  • Ensuring that processes are up to date and communicated, Monitoring the payroll inbox and undertaking all temporary input
  • Acting as first point of contact for all payroll related queries
  • Processing weekly and monthly reports
  • Providing 1st line support to employees and managers
  • Processing New starters, Leavers and changes in the payroll system
  • Processing sickness, writing to employees reducing pay
  • Overseeing maternity, paternity, and other statutory leave
  • Completing the IRMA uploads into the payroll system, checking and resolving any exceptions
  • Managing Childcare vouchers
  • Processing pension changes (AVCs & AVC Extra) in iTrent and the pension portal
  • Processing of retirements
  • Running Business Objects reports
  • Issuing P45s
  • Completing payroll checking reports
  • Managing all pension related queries
  • Uploading the weekly and monthly files to Railpen and Sharepoint
  • Processing salary confirmations on the pension portal
