Payroll Advisor / Payroll Clerk

About the Role

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Payroll Advisor or Clerk with hands-on experience using Sage 50 Payroll. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing for all employees and supporting compliance with payroll regulations. You will also be the first point of contact for employee payroll queries and work closely with HR and management to maintain smooth payroll operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately using Sage 50 Payroll for all employees
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality and data integrity
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including tax and benefit deductions
  • Respond to and resolve payroll queries from employees promptly
  • Prepare payroll reports and summaries for management review
  • Support payroll-related onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Collaborate with HR and management to streamline payroll processes
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous payroll experience, preferably with Sage 50 Payroll
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Professional handling of confidential information
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or related field is a plus
