Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd, a specialist Payroll and HR recruitment agency, is seeking an experienced payroll professional in Coventry to move beyond processing into a Payroll Adviser role.

You will own client relationships, provide payroll guidance across multiple portfolios, stay compliant with UK legislation, and help develop junior staff, with future-proofing through AI and new tech.

Qualifications

• Experience in bureau or accountancy practice payroll.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, statutory payments, pensions and auto-enrolment.
• Confident managing multiple clients and deadlines.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Ambitious to develop beyond payroll processing.
• Staffology experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payrolls across a portfolio of clients.
• Manage client queries and act as a key point of contact.
• Build strong client relationships and provide payroll guidance.
• Complete payroll checks and audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support the Senior Payroll Manager with workload allocation and team development.
• Train and mentor junior team members where required.
• Maintain accurate client records and payroll documentation.
• Ensure payrolls are delivered accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Keep up to date with UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
