Job summary

Menzies LLP is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the Woking office and manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients. The role is based in the Woking office with agile working possibilities and a culture that values people and development.

You will be responsible for accurate payroll processing, PAYE schemes, and pension administration, while working with a supportive team to deliver a high-quality payroll service.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years payroll experience and solid understanding of payroll processes.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to use databases and MS Office.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to meet deadlines with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Process client payrolls accurately across weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles.
  • Set up PAYE schemes with HMRC and maintain client/employee records.
  • Handle auto-enrolment pension administration within payroll.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties as required and maintain data integrity.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to deliver a high-quality payroll service.

We have a great opportunity for a Payroll Bureau Processor to join our team in the Woking office.

This is an opportunity to undertake an entire payroll process from start to finish for a portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

You’ll be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of annual, monthly, quarterly, or weekly payrolls. The allocation of clients will be based on experience and complexity of client’s needs.

  • Accurate processing of client payrolls across weekly, monthly, quarterly pay cycles
  • Setting up PAYE schemes with HMRC
  • Maintaining and updating client and employee permanent changes
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Knowledgeable in the administration of auto enrolment pensions via payroll
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What We’re Looking For:

We're looking for an enthusiastic payroll professional who's ready to build on their experience and take the next step in their career.

With around 1-2 years' payroll experience, you'll have a good understanding of payroll processes, a keen eye for detail and a genuine commitment to delivering a great service to clients.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and databases.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and take ownership of your workload.
  • Great communication and customer service skills, with a natural ability to build positive relationships.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for being part of a supportive team.
  • Previous experience with PayCircle would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.

A CIPP Technician qualification would be advantageous, although we equally value hands-on payroll experience and a willingness to learn and develop.

We also offer agile working, giving you the flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week, with no regular travel required.
