Patient Services Lead

Brentwood Hospital | Patient Services | Permanent contract | Full time

Up to £28,000 per annum depending on experience

37.5 hours per week

As a Patient Services Lead at our Brentwood Hospital, you will bring experience in a similar customer-facing environment. Ideally, you’ve held a Team Leader role that’s equipped you with the essential skills and understanding to succeed here. And, of course, you’re also dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. You will also have good communication skills and ideally the knowledge and understanding of clinical terminology.

As a Patient Services Lead, you will:

  • Demonstrate positive behaviour, attitude and outlook to support the Patient Services Manager at all times, especially in terms of setting standards to team members and presenting a united front around business and strategic decisions.
  • Show excellent customer service skills as part of the Patient Services Teams.
  • Ensure the work within the areas of administration and support meets all required standards and time scales.
  • Handle all enquiries, or queries raised efficiently and effectively, escalating appropriately.
  • Manage work scheduling/rotas, approve time entries and annual leave requests.
  • Work as part of the team including occasional shift work.
  • Complete staff one to ones, PDR and all other management duties.
  • Manage team compliance with Mandatory training.
  • Manage Health and Safety compliance within Patient Services areas.
  • Ensure department KPIs are being met.
  • To ensure the department is fully covered.
  • To support other areas within Patient Services if required.

To succeed as a Patient Services Team Lead, you will need:

  • Supervisory experience for a minimum of two years.
  • Previous experience of leading a team of a minimum of eight.
  • Motivate staff and build and maintain positive morale within the workplace.
  • To act as the first point of contact for many of our patients you will need to be polite, professional and be able to show empathy and to be the patients ambassador.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to disseminate information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Have a positive outlook to change, ability to adapt and have a flexible approach.
  • Ability to review and refine admin processes.
  • Ability to present to a group in meeting situations.
  • Ability to work under your own initiative.
  • Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
  • Computer literacy, database and MS Outlook skills are essential.
  • Ability to remain calm and take control of situations where necessary.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain a variety of information.
