A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Patient Flow Coordinator for the Emergency Department. This full-time position involves coordinating administrative tasks to enhance patient flow and improve the overall patient experience. Candidates should have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively in a busy environment. Shifts cover 24/7, including days and nights, ensuring optimal patient management throughout the year.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Emergency Department administration team for a Patient Flow coordinator. This post is based at the East Surrey site.
The primary purpose of the role is to provide a comprehensive and effective patient flow within the Emergency Department. The concept is designed to free up valuable nursing and medical time to avoid delays, keep within the breach time frames and improve the patient experience.
The Patient Flow coordinator will be expected to work as part of the ED Administration team, under the direction of the Operational Lead and senior team to ensure the smooth flow of patients through the department. You will be working closely with the Majors coordinator, Nurse in Charge, Site team, portering team and wards. It is expected that by coordinating administrative tasks, and liaising with other departments, the post holder will contribute to the efficient and effective running of the ED resulting in a significant reduction in patient journey times.
The post is full time 12.5 hr shifts which cover 24/7 365 days per year, days & nights.

Successful candidates will be appointed to the first pay step within the band when they start with the Trust (unless they have previous relevant NHS continuous service), thereafter individuals will progress up the pay steps in accordance with NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) terms and conditions. For part‑time roles you will receive a pro‑rata salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
