Patient flow Co-Ordinator

Band 3

37.5 Hours per week

We are looking for a motivated, proactive individual with a strong attention to detail and good time management skills, to join our Emergency Department. The candidate should have experience of working in an Emergency Department in a clinical role. The role of the flow coordinator plays a key role in ensuring efficient patient flow by monitoring the patient’s journey through the ED. This position serves as a liaison between clinical and administrative operations to help reduce delays and ensure that timely care is delivered for patients. The flow coordinator ensures that patients are progressing through their diagnostic and treatment plans without unnecessary delays.

This service will cover 07.00hrs-19.30hrs Mon- Sun

• Monitor and document patient movement through the ED using the electronic tracking system
• Identify and escalation of delays in care
• Communicate in real time with the MDT to address flow barriers
• Support the ED nurse coordinator in managing patient flow and prioritising of patient transfers to wards, including participation in huddles to identify patient flow issues.
• Maintain accurate, real time updates on patient status (discharge, admission, transfer)
