Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Financial Navigator to support patients with MassHealth screening, coverage options, and billing questions. This on-site role at Exeter Hospital (NH) focuses on guiding patients through financial options, payment plans, and financial assistance programs.

The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, experience in financial counseling or billing, and knowledge of insurance policies. Travel to affiliated hospitals may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with strong customer service and communication skills.
• Preferred CAC certification; CPC certification a plus.
• Experience 2–3 years in Financial Counseling, Social Work, or Billing related fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist over the phone or in person to address financial matters and document issues from notices, statements, and billing/insurance.
• Explain Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and covered services to patients.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve patient financial concerns for elective or non-covered procedures.
• Assist patients with Financial Assistance (Charity) as per policy guidelines.
• Provide payment options, collect payments from self-pay patients, and educate on payment plans.
