A healthcare provider in London is seeking a Receptionist to join their reception team. The candidate will manage patient enquiries, maintain records, and support clinical staff in providing excellent patient care. Ideal candidates will have experience in reception duties and knowledge of EMIS clinical systems, as well as good communication skills and customer service orientation.
This is a role within the reception team and the post holder will have experience of reception and of delivering patient services. The post holder will have a thorough graspof all administrative tasks and will work proactively to ensure that performance targets are achieved.S/he will be expected to contribute constructively to the design / redesign of systems, processes andprotocols working in conjunction with the rest of the team. The post holder will have significant responsibilities delegated to him / her and will be expected todeliver these tasks with the minimum of supervision but while working within the decisions made bythe Team Leaders Meeting and to practice policies. The post holder will have a thorough understanding of access issues and of the appointment system. They will ensure that patients are dealt with in a courteous, efficientand effective way and will be jointly responsible for ensuring that front-of-house exchanges toproceed smoothly.
The post holder will be expected to be confident and fully familiar with the execution of allreception tasks and will be expected to proactively contribute to the day to dayservice delivery, will also be responsible jointly with others to ensure receptionperformance is as the practice requires and that performance targets are met. Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any othervisitors to the Practice. Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures. Use own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no priorappointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptivemanner. Explain Practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and thoseseeking temporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.o Develop and awareness of relevant community organisations for signposting ofpatients. Receive and make telephone calls as required. Understand the importance and priorityof incoming calls both from patients and professional colleagues and answer thetelephone promptly and following practice policy. Action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by thepatient within 48 hours. Advise patience with relevant information about the practice. Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly andaccurately. Ensure correspondence are filed promptly and in the correctrecords.
The Mission Practice is a surgery serving approx 12,500 patients in E2. Ensure that reception daily tasks are completed to deadline. Enter patient information on to the computer as required. Contribute to ensuringefficient and secure handling of paper and computer patient records eg: test results,letters etc. Handle incoming and outgoing records correctly, ensure that appropriateadministrative data is recorded, extracted, entered, scanned or processed inaccordance with procedures and protocols. Liaise with professional colleagues in a professional and positive manner. Participate in and contribute to staff meetings; comply with staff rotas; identify own training needs; comply with all practiceemployment procedures; En sure that the reception area is clean and tidy and that it complies with DataProtection and patient confidentiality through the day and over night (clear desk policyovernight). Support and provide administrative back-up as required by the clinical staff especiallyduring surgeries.
