Job Overview

Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hrs / week) Band 3 Patient Access Coordinator. The role provides high‑quality administrative support in the Nuclear Medicine Department, covering a broad range of tasks, including booking outpatient appointments, managing face‑to‑face areas and handling patient queries, while working closely with clinical and specialty management teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the first point of call for all patient access queries to the Trust.
  • Ensure that new referral letters have been vetted in line with departmental guidelines.
  • Schedule outpatient appointments and all associated activities according to clinical urgency and wait times, following departmental procedures and Trust policies.
  • Liaise with patients prior to their visit to agree a mutually convenient date and time.
  • Remind patients of their appointments, including telephone reminders up to seven days before the visit to reconfirm attendance.
  • Provide a courteous and efficient point of contact for patients both face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
  • Treat each patient as an individual, ensuring appropriate support is in place (e.g. interpreting services).
  • Provide broad administrative support to clinical teams within the Nuclear Medicine Department.
