Job summary

Medica is seeking a Clinical Applications Technical Lead – Pathology to lead the design, configuration and optimisation of pathology systems and integrations. You will collaborate with clinicians, operational teams and technology partners to deliver compliant, scalable clinical solutions and support 24/7 services.

The role requires strong knowledge of pathology workflows, LIMS and interoperability standards, with a focus on governance, testing and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience configuring and optimising clinical or healthcare IT systems.
  • Strong knowledge of pathology workflows and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as DICOM and HL7
  • Experience with clinical system integrations, interfaces and data flows
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly around system configuration, testing, validation and documentation
  • Experience operating within clinical governance and change management frameworks
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively and work independently or as part of a specialist team

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design, configuration and optimisation of pathology systems and integrations
  • Collaborate with clinicians, operational teams, clients and technology partners to deliver innovative solutions
  • Provide escalation point for complex application and integration issues
  • Support system upgrades, UAT, go-live readiness and post-implementation optimisation
  • Ensure adherence to clinical governance, information governance and change control processes
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable, compliant and user-focused clinical systems
  • Support clinical systems roadmaps and future technology enhancements
  • Participate in the clinical systems on-call rota supporting Medica's 24/7 services
