Overview

You are a part-qualified Patent Attorney currently working in private practice, a full-service law firm or in-house department looking to make an exciting career move. You are a technically astute Patent Attorney in training (Technical Assistant), able to quickly understand a broad range of Electronic Engineering, Software or Computer Science subject matter. You should have passed your UK Foundation Examinations and the pre-EQE, and be working towards qualification as both a UK and European Patent Attorney.

Responsibilities
  • Advise inventors on patent filing strategies across a range of technologies.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications; contribute to a growing remit of contentious work from the outset.
  • Engage in genuine partnership with product-driven clients and collaborate with R&D and IP stakeholders.
  • Manage own caseloads with prioritisation and responsibility, and maintain direct client relationships.
  • Take part in an in-house training programme to up-skill in all areas of modern practice life.
  • Contribute to a Tier 1 private practice culture that values collaboration and respect for all team members.
Qualifications
  • Part-qualified Patent Attorney (technically adept in Electronic Engineering, Software or Computer Science).
  • Passed UK Foundation Examinations and the pre-EQE; working towards qualification as both UK and European Patent Attorney.
  • Applications from single-qualified EPA or CPA Patent Attorneys are welcomed.
