Job summary

Norwood Electrical UK Ltd is seeking an engineer to perform In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) across multiple sites in England. You will ensure compliance with the IET Code of Practice and health and safety regulations while meeting client quality standards.

The role involves liaising with customers, managing own scheduling, and weekly uploading results to the PAT team at Head Office. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email access is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment (PAT) following IET Code of Practice.
• Ability to produce results that meet client and accrediting body quality standards.
• Understanding of Health & Safety Regulations relating to appliance testing.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PAT testing on electrical equipment across various sites (schools, hospitals, hotels, universities).
• Liaise with customers to minimise disruption and ensure work is completed to requirements.
• Download weekly results and send to the PAT team at Head Office; maintain timely records and reporting.

Job description

The successful candidate will carry out Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.

Produce results which meet the requirements and quality standards of clients and external accrediting bodies.

Manage appliance testing in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.

Liaise with customers to ensure that the work is carried out efficiently, to customer's requirements, whilst limiting the disruption to their business. Lots of sites consist of Schools, Hospitals, Hotels and Universities.

The engineer must have an acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Office and have access to emails, as part of their job (once a week) requires the successful process of the downloading procedure (weekly results) being completed and sent to the PAT team at Head Office.

Job schedules will be arranged by the PAT Team at Head Office however, the Engineer must be able to manage their own time efficiently and successfully.

Maintain an acceptable time keeping track record, ensure that start & finish times are adhered to, as directed by the PAT Manager.
